The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) has extended financial support to an additional 5,667 tertiary students for the 2024/2025 academic year, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 31,659 across 130 public and private tertiary institutions nationwide.

This latest disbursement reflects the commitment of the John Mahama-led administration to promoting inclusive and accessible higher education, ensuring that students from all socio-economic backgrounds can pursue their academic goals without financial constraints.

In an official statement, SLTF management reaffirmed its dedication to the timely release of funds, enabling students to gain admission to their preferred institutions without undue financial burden.

The Chief Executive Officer of SLTF, Dr. Saajida Shiraz, expressed the Fund’s continued support for the government’s No-Fees-Stress policy in a recent Facebook post, emphasizing its critical role in reducing the financial strain on students.

“As we work to implement the No-Fees-Stress policy, we remain committed to providing financial support to continuing students. Our goal is to ensure that every qualified Ghanaian student has the opportunity to complete their education without the hindrance of fees,” Dr. Shiraz stated.

She further highlighted SLTF’s broader mission of contributing to national development by facilitating equitable access to quality tertiary education. Dr. Shiraz also encouraged beneficiaries to make the most of the opportunity by focusing on their academic pursuits and contributing meaningfully to society.

The SLTF continues to play a pivotal role in Ghana’s education sector by bridging the financial gap for thousands of students and reinforcing the government’s vision of an educated, skilled, and empowered workforce for sustainable national growth.
