The Ghana Armed Forces has confirmed that six people are dead while others sustained various degrees of injuries following a stampede at the El-Walk Spots Stadium in Accra on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.

The victims were among thousands of Ghanaian youth seeking to get recruited into the Ghana Armed Forces.

The injured include five people in critical condition at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 12 others seriously injured.

The Ghana Armed Forces has confirmed the casualties, with 28 people transported to the 37 Military Hospital for treatment.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety and management of the recruitment process.

The Ghana Armed Forces recruitment for 2025/2026 had attracted a large number of applicants, with various positions available, including Infantry, Armour, Artillery, and Military Police. Applicants were required to meet specific eligibility criteria, including age, education, and physical fitness requirements.

The incident highlights the need for adequate crowd control and safety measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.
