SARI Workers Co-Operative Credit Union Ltd has opened a new ultra modern office complex in Nyankpala to provide financial services to its members and the public.
The opening of the office also coincide with it’s 32nd Annual General Meeting under the theme ” Strengthening Roots, Expanding Horizons: Celebrating 42 Years of Trust with a New Home for Growth”.
The SARI Workers Co-operative Credit Union Ltd is associated with the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research-Savanna Agricultural Research Institute (CSIR-SARI) and offers savings and loans.
The ceremony brought together members of the credit union, the public and some revered Chiefs .
According to the Board Chairman, Mr. Eleazar Ofosu Krofa the theme for the occasion reflects on the strategies to strengthen the Union’s existence into foreseeable future, expanding service delivery and membership drive, rejoicing over the past 4 decades and propelling aggressive growth.
He said, the new office is constructed to support growth and better serve members and the public, adding that, the Union undertook the construction of the new office edifice as a major priority in 2024 and 2025.
” The project was initiated with a focus on accessibility, operational efficiency, long-term sustainability”. He hinted
Mr. Ofosu Krofa said, the office building includes administration offices, Banking Hall, members service areas, secure storage for sensitive records, ams meeting spaces for board and members engagements.
“Our new office building represents a significant investment in our future. It will enable us to enhance our services, improve efficiency, and better serve our members. This facility will be a hub for financial employment, education, and community development ”
The Managing Director of SARI Workers Co-Operative Union Ltd, Mr Ziblim Iddrisu Baba said, the new office complex is a symbol of commitment for operational excellence, member-centred service delivery, transparency and innovation, community development and inclusion.
” It reflects our readiness to meet the growing demands of our members and to align with national ans global standards for cooperative financial institutions “. He added
The CEO of Credit Union Association of Ghana, Mr Cypian Basing. said, the SARI Credit Union have chalked successes, adding that, membership stands at 350 in 2015 is now 1,200 with an Asset base of GHS 700,000.00 to GHS8. 6Million.
He noted that, the new office complex is an indication of great commitments and resilience of the credit Union, saying that, ” Three years ago, we couldn’t even hold a proper management meeting because the place was very small but now the office can serve our members and the public”
Mr. Basing said, credit unions are everywhere in Ghana especially places traditional bank cannot reach and therefore call on the general public to visit the office to get serve.
” We have good packages for both the informal and formal sector, so we are calling on everybody to join”. He entreats
The Chief of Nyankpala, Naa Mohammed Ibrahim who was the guest of honor thanked the management and board of SARI Credit Union for establishing their office in the area, saying that, the people of Nyankpala and it’s environs are very grateful.
According to him, the SARI Workers Co-operative Credit Union Ltd office complex will not only serve it’s members but people of Nyankpala especially businesses.
The SARI Workers Co-operative Credit Union Ltd at the ceremony awarded some distinguished personalities who have served the Union well.
The awardees received citations for their immmese contribution towards the growth of SARI Credit Union.
