Two police officers, Assistant Superintendent of Police Nasiru Amadu and Corporal Emmanuel Mintah, have been sentenced to 13 years in prison by a Tema Circuit Court for unlawful possession of narcotics and conspiracy to traffic narcotics.
The officers were arrested in November 2023 while transporting 541 compressed parcels of suspected narcotics from Ho to Accra.
They are given 5 and 10 years in prison, respectively, to run concurrently. 10,000 penalty units (GH¢120,000)
