The Northern Regional Police Command in Tamale has arrested three suspects in connection with the theft of a newborn baby boy at One Heart Hospital in Lamashegu on Sunday, December 21, 2025.
A woman posing as a nurse entered the labor ward and took the baby belonging to a patient’s sister, pretending she was going to administer an injection. The arrested suspects includes; Abubakari Fatima Bintu, a nurse on duty, Grace Asiedu Mensah, a nurse on duty and bubakari Iddi, a security guard on duty
The police Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) are conducting intelligence operations to locate the stolen baby and arrest other suspects involved.
