A leading member of the NPP, Mr. Musah Superior has urged officials and associates of the Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia campaign team to demonstrate discipline, responsiveness, and honesty as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) prepares for its internal elections in January 2026.

The NPP will be holding elections to choose leaders at the polling station, electoral area, constituency, regional, and national levels, culminating in selecting the party’s flagbearer. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is regarded as the leading candidate in the flagbearership contest.

In a statement, Mr. Superior, a staunch supporter of Dr. Bawumia warned that any campaign official or special aides to Dr. Bawumia who refuses to answer calls or respond to communications becomes a liability and a danger to the team.

He emphasised that public confidence is vital in building a strong political campaign and called on members to provide accurate and timely feedback to Dr. Bawumia.

He stressed that special aides to Dr. Bawumia must not only commend him for his strengths but also point out weaknesses privately and help him address them. “Tell him the bitter truth, even if it makes him feel glum,” Mr. Superior advised, cautioning against empty praise.

The former celebrated Tamale Mayor also encouraged campaign members to avoid unnecessary attention-seeking and instead focus on strategies that will strengthen and project the campaign to the Ghanaian electorate.

“The job of campaign officials is not to make their boss feel good, but to prepare him adequately through sound advice and strategic inputs,” he said.

Expressing confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s chances in the upcoming NPP Flagbearership contest, Musah Superior said the former Vice President of the Ghana and the 2024 NPP Presidential candidate remains in pole position to lead the NPP again in 2028 elections.

The NPP stalwart called on supporters to work harder to secure victory for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming NPP flagbearership race slated on 31st January 2026.
