The 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) has officially commenced across the country, with thousands of candidates writing in the Northern Region.
This year, 19,413 candidates are sitting for the exams in the region. The figure includes 9,621 males and 9,722 females, showing an almost equal gender representation.
Ahead of today’s written papers, candidates had already undertaken Project Work and Practical sessions, which started on August 5. The written papers are expected to run until September 19, 2025.
Education authorities in the region have urged students to stay focused, disciplined, and avoid any form of examination malpractice.
