Newly wedded couple dies in a gory accident in Tamale

A newly wedded couple has been confirmed dead following an accident on the Gurugu road.

The accident, which occurred on Sunday night, 22nd June, at around 11:00 PM, claimed the lives of the couple, whose wedding had been celebrated earlier that same afternoon.

An eye witness said the couple were knocked down by some Nigerian guys driving unregistered vehicle at Gurugu Sawadigo fuel station.

‘Today was their wedding at T poly junction. The bride died on the spot while the groom has been taken to hospital under critical conditions’ . He posted on his Facebook page

A brother of the groom deceased who spoke to Tolon Radio’s Adam Mustapha aka Afa Staff narrated how joyful the wedding was in the early hours of today and how the groom had struggled to find a wife in recent times. He also emphasized how the lovely couple was moving on a motorcycle from the family house, where the wedding took place, to the groom’s rented apartment at Gurugu when they met their untimely death.

The bodies have since been deposited at the TTH Morgue in the early hours of Monday, around 2:50 AM.
