Former Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid has denied claims that he is under investigation by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) over alleged embezzlement of GH¢1.3 billion from the Unified Petroleum Price Fund (UPPF).

The Special Prosecutor, at a conference Wednesday February 12 2025 said, the office is investigating Mr Hamid and 3 others.

In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Abdul-Hamid refuted the allegations, stating that he had not been contacted by any state investigative body regarding the matter.

“As of this afternoon, I have neither received any invitation from any State investigative body nor have I been under investigation for any such alleged crime,” he wrote.

The former NPA boss emphasized his willingness to cooperate with any official inquiry, saying he is ready to assist in any investigations should the need arise.

His response comes after media reports suggested that the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, had announced an investigation into alleged financial irregularities at the UPPF during Abdul-Hamid’s tenure.

As of now, the Office of the Special Prosecutor has not provided further details on the reported investigation.

Meanwhile, Dr. Hamid publicly declared his willingness to cooperate with the Office of the Special Prosecutor.
