President John Dramani Mahama has taken a decisive step to seek justice for the tragic loss of eight Ghanaians during the 2020 and 2024 general elections.

This call for accountability underscores his commitment to safeguarding human rights and ensuring justice for the victims and their grieving families.

In a letter signed by Callistus Mahama, the Secretary to the President, and addressed to the Inspector-General of Police, Dr George Akuffo Dampare, Mr Mahama emphasized the urgency of an impartial investigation. The government’s stance reflects a broader commitment to upholding democratic principles and ensuring such incidents do not mar Ghana’s electoral process in the future.

Mr Mahama’s call for an investigation is not just a pursuit of justice but also a reaffirmation of the country’s dedication to its democratic ideals. The move is expected to set a precedent for addressing election-related violence and fostering trust in Ghana’s political system.
