The Karaga District Assembly has been upgraded to Municipal status by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
President Akufo-Addo also granted executive approval for the upgrade of he Offinso North District Assembly, Birem North District Assembly to Municipal status.
Again, Ho Municipal Assembly, Sunyani Municipal Assembly, New Juaben Municipal Assembly, and Wa Municipal Assembly have been elavated to metropolise.
This was in a statement from the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralisation, and Rural Development (MLGRD) on Wednesday, December 4.
The development is in line with the legal provisions outlined in Act 936.
