The Chairman of the newly launched government initiative, Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL), Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has disclosed that he faces daily threats from individuals opposing the operation.

Speaking on Joynews on Monday, January 13, Ablakwa said that despite the constant threats, he remains resolute in his mission.

“Threats have become a daily feature, but we have tough skin, and we know the Good Lord will protect us,” he shared.

He further explained, “I have been subjected to a lot of propaganda, fake news, and people just trying to demonize me.”

However, Ablakwa emphasized that these challenges do not deter his resolve. “We remain unaffected, we are resolute and focused”

Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) is an initiative set up by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government with the aim of identifying, investigating, and recovering state assets allegedly stolen by officials of the former Akufo-Addo administration.

These assets reportedly include lands, vehicles, revenues, and dubious contract deals. The ORAL team includes prominent figures such as former Auditor-General Daniel Domelovo, retired Commissioner of Police Nathaniel Kofi Boakye, private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu, and investigative journalist Raymond Archer.

According to Ablakwa, the committee has already received numerous suspected cases, all of which are under investigation. Once the investigations are completed, the findings will be presented to the Attorney General for potential legal action and prosecution.
