Hon. Iddridu Yakubu Dasana has been officially confirmed as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Karaga Municipality, receiving a near-unanimous endorsement during a confirmation ceremony held at the Karaga District Assembly Conference Room.
The event, held on Tuesday, was attended by several dignitaries, most including the Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Aliu Adolfo Mburudiba, who served as the special guest. Also present were traditional leaders, religious figures, regional and constituency executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), party faithful, and members of the general public.
Hon. Dasana secured 45 out of 47 valid votes cast, representing a 96% endorsement by the assembly members and government appointees.
In his remarks, Hon. Dasana expressed heartfelt gratitude to President H.E. John Dramani Mahama for the opportunity to serve, as well as to the regional minister and assembly members for their confidence in his leadership.
“I’m committed to ensuring that all resources are utilized effectively and efficiently to the benefit of all,” he stated. “I also make it a point to deepen transparency and accountability by ensuring that citizens are kept informed about the status of government projects, policies, and programmes within the municipality.”
He further pledged to collaborate closely with traditional authorities, religious leaders, stakeholders, and the Assembly to promote development and improve the well-being of residents in the Karaga Municipality.
