The Member of Parliament for the Savulegu Constituency, Hon. Hajia Fatahiya Abdul Aziz, has embarked on a working visit to the Dipali-Adaayili area, where she inspected the White Volta as part of preparations for a major irrigation project.
The initiative, which according to Hon Hajia Fatahiya is still in its planning phase, is aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity in the constituency by providing sustainable irrigation systems for local farmers, particularly women and persons with disabilities in the area. Describing them as “the backbone of our food security and rural growth,” Hon. Fatahiya emphasised the importance of inclusive development.
“Our vision is to empower these resilient women and ensure they have the resources they need to thrive,” she stated. “Agriculture remains the heartbeat of our economy, and we must invest in systems that support long-term success.”
As part of the same tour, the MP also assessed the condition of the Gushei–Tuunayili–Dipali road network. She highlighted the need for urgent repairs on the road to improve connectivity, safety, and access for the communities that depend on the route daily.
“Real change begins when we show up, listen, and act,” Hajia Fatahiya remarked. “Together, we’re laying the foundation for a stronger, more resilient future one project at a time.”
Her visit is seen as yet another step in the MP’s ongoing efforts to engage directly with constituents and address their developmental challenges from the ground up.
