A fire outbreak on Sunday, April 20, 2025, destroyed the entire top floor of a two storey hostel of the Kwadaso SDA Nursing and  Midwifery Training  College in the Kwadaso municipality in  Ashanti Region.

The incident, which occoured around 5:00 p.m., caused significant damage to students personal belongings, including mattresses, laptops, provisions, stationery, and other essentials. Fortunately, no casualities were recorded, as many students had travelled home  for the Easter holidays.

According to eyewitness accounts, the blaze spread rapidly, but the swift responds from the officers from Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) helped contain the fire, preventing it from reaching the ground floor.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown. However, officials from the GNFS have begun investigation to determine the source of the incident.
