Information available to Tolon Radio revealed a sinister plot by some big-wigs within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to invoke the license of Electrochem Ghana Limited has been exposed.

The Electrochem Ghana Limited, a mining company owned by Ghanaian business mogul Dr Daniel Mckorley under the McDan Group of Companies is currently mining the Ada Songhor Salt.

Electrochem Ghana Limited has legally acquired the Ada Songhor Salt with over 78,000 acres stretch of the land. By a rectification of parliament, the company will mine salt in the Ada area for 15 years.

Electrochem Ghana Limited has since revamped the Ada Songhor Lagoon after decades of near extinction.

The company commenced operations in January 2021 has produces 1,000,000 metric tons of first-rate salt (of 99.9% purity) per annum to serve both the local and export markets.

“Ada Salt” which Electrochem produces has been known as one of the best in Africa, in quality, grade, and density and it is the mainstay of the local community in Ada.

But some big wigs of the NDC including Hon Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuiye, Dr Tony Aubin, Hon Alex Kyeremeh and the two NDC MPs in Ada have vowed to thwart the efforts of the company by allegedly conniving with illegal miners to encroach on the Ada Songhor Salt project site which is legally acquired by Electrochem Ghana Limited.

Prior to the 2024 December 7 Election, the NDC parliamentary candidates Ada East Hon. Doeyo Cudjo and Ada West Daniel Bessy allegedly assured some illegal miners within the Ada Songor Lagoon Concession that when NDC wins power, they will sack Electrochem Ghana Limited.

Information gathered from a source reveals that, certain individuals and groups, including ASLA, The Fourth Estate, and The Third World Network and the two NDC MP’s are engaged in deliberate attempts to undermine the company’s operations and reputation.

The source alleged that, these entities are reportedly encouraging and inciting individuals to encroach the concession for illegal mining activities.

According to the source, they believe this will leave Electrochem Ghana Limited with no choice than to call on security personnel for intervention and when that happens the illegal miners should provoke and attack the security personnel. Again, they should also attack their fellow Ada’s whom they believe are in support of the company (Electrochem) to put fear in them just to create a violence scene.

The illegal miners were also urged to take videos and pictures of the violence scene and share them on various social media platforms so that the security personnel currently patrolling the area for law and order will be withdrawn immediately after swearing in the president- elect John Dramani Mahama on 7th January 2025.

Our investigation revealed that, the dubious agenda by the NDC big shots has already set in motion as many residents including illegal miners besieged the mining site some few days ago siphoning brine and beating their fellow Ada’s. Community pans created for residence of the area by the Electrochem Ghana Limited was not also spared.

In a viral video some irate youth were seen threatening security personnel and causing mayhem at the Ada Songhor Salt project site, allegedly orchestrated by the NDC conspirators.

The alleged evil scheme dubbed “Operation tag and destroyed them” is aimed at targeting Ghanaian businesses and companies’ contractor under the outgoing NPP government.

Again, the plot is to withdraw government’s mining concession contracts from alleged seemingly surrogates and friends of the NPP.

According to our investigation, the alleged NDC plotters modus operandi is to tag some of these companies as enemies of the state and therefore incite some party youth against them.

The plan is to get the youth charge and attack these business establishments across the country to make it looks like action of an irate youth.

Party hoodlums across the country are ready to take action at any given directive by the alleged plotters.

The Ghanaian business mogul Dr.Daniel Mckorley affectionately called McDan appears to be on the bad books of some NDC stalwarts who vows to clip his wings through various sinister plots.
