Bryan Acheampong campaign team denies linking Bawumia to Kusasi-Mamprusi conflict

The presidential campaign team of Abetifi Member of Parliament, Dr. Bryan Acheampong has dismissed claims circulating on social media suggesting he blamed former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the Kusasi-Mamprusi conflict.

In a press released issued and signed by Pius Enam Hadzide, spokesperson to the Bryan Acheampong’s campaign team,  describes the viral video circulating online as “mischievously pieced together” and misleading, saying it misrepresents Dr. Acheampong’s remarks.

The statement clarified that Dr. Bryan Acheampong referred to Dr. Bawumia as a “victim of circumstances,” rather than a cause of division, and reiterated his deep respect for the former Vice President.

According to the statement, Dr. Bryan Acheampong’s comments were aimed at highlighting political strategies that have affected the New Patriotic Party’s performance in key regions and constituencies over the years especially in the Bawku area.

The team further emphasised that Dr. Bryan Acheampong’s message focuses on unity, transparency, and achieving results, as part of efforts to position the party for a strong showing in the 2028 elections.

Supporters of the NPP and the general public have been encouraged to listen to the full recording of his remarks to form their own opinions.
