The United Force for Development International (UF4D) has commended Abdul-Mumin Yussif for his selection as one of the distinguished scholars for the 2025 Global Environmental Justice Conference, themed “Environmental Joy: Writing the Future.”

The international conference, organised by the Yale Centre for Environmental Justice (YCEJ) at Yale University, USA, brings together thought leaders, activists, and policymakers from across the world to discuss innovative solutions to environmental and climate challenges anchored in harmony, healing, and hope.

Mr Abdul-Mumin’s recognition highlights his exceptional leadership in promoting climate resilience, sustainable agriculture, disaster risk reduction, and community empowerment in Ghana and across the continent.

Currently based in Tamale, Mr Abdul-Mumin serves as the Programme Manager for Climate Resilience and Sustainable Agriculture at UF4D. He has led several impactful initiatives, including national dialogues on Early Warning and Anticipatory Action, mentorship programmes at Barcamp Tamale, and training sessions for MEDA GROW 2 women on converting agricultural waste into charcoal. He also spearheads the Empowering Local Communities for Climate Action (ELCCA) project.

An alumnus of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community (Tamale Hub) and a Climate Reality Mentor, Mr Abdul-Mumin also serves as Ghana’s National Focal Person for the Global Network of Civil Society Organisations for Disaster Reduction (GNDR).

UF4D described his selection as a proud achievement for Ghana, noting that his work continues to inspire inclusive and sustainable climate action rooted in joy and resilience.
