NETANYAHU’S APPALLING WAR IN IRAN – And the hypocrisy of US, UK, AU, etc.
The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Mariano Grossi says, “we did not have any proof of a systematic effort to move into a nuclear weapon”. He laments that, “military action, from whomever it comes, is a political decision that has nothing to do with what we are saying,” adding that the “IAEA currently has no indication that Iran is operating a systematic program to produce a nuclear weapon”.
Testiying before a US Congressional Committee in March this year, America’s Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard left no doubt when she unequivocally stated that lran was not building a nuclear weapon. Gabbard announced that lran’s Supreme Leader had not reauthorized the “dormant program even though it had enriched uranium to higher levels”. Trump as reckless as he is publicly undemined his Director of National Intelligence and the entire US Intelligence Community, saying they are “wrong” on Iran’s nuclear. This is the stupidest thing to do – publicly disagreeing with your intelligence empire. If l was Gabbard, l would have resigned as the National lntelligence boss, but hey, this lady has no principles. She is won’t stand down. She is one of Trump’s many obsequious appointees.
United Nations leading experts have condemned Israel military attacks against Iran. The UN is worried that, “these attacks represent a flagrant violation of fundamental principles of international law, and a blatant act of aggression”.
Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi has completely denied any “potential militarization” of the country’s nuclear program”. He says, Iran’s
nuclear energy activity
has always been “peaceful,” He rejects the suggestion that their energy program is ‘potential militarization”
Article 2(4) of the Charter of the United Nations prohibits the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, including through any purported claim of preventive self-defense against alleged nuclear proliferation or terrorism.
Israel’s illegal attack on Iran is deliberate. Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu is using Gaza and lran to “cover his skin”. He is the most hated politician in lsrael’s domestic politics. He is currently being tried by a Jerusalem District Court on allegations of massive corruption and bribery. Netanyahu’s politcal survival is what matters to him. He feels good about the genocide in Gaza. He is happy to murder thousands of innocent, unarmed civilians in Iran just to hang on to power.
Netanyahu was euphoric! He thought he was going to carry all lsraelis along in this brutal campaign against Iran. He was wrong. Million of Jews in Israel, Europe and America have rejected his new SELFISH war. Leading lsraeli academics, religious heads, students, etcetera have condermed Netanyahu and his corrupt government for taking the country on to this perilous journey. He doesnt care a hoot provided his actions will temporarily overshadow the mounting domestic challenges surrounding him and his incompetent government.
Israel’s economy has totally collapsed.The stock market, currency has nosedived. Experts say, around US$600 billion will be lost to Israel in the next decade. This is what Netanyahu is seeking to hide by his escalatory wars.This is why his government is ABSOLUTELY unpopular in lsrael. This is why two-thirds of the people of Israel want his ousted.
The US President, Donald Trump is complicit in the Netanyahu instigated, illegal war both Iran and Palestine. It is clear that Trump is fanning, backing and funding and intends to continue to fund these atrocious wars. His two week deadline for Iran to surrender unconditionally is mindless. May be l should not border myself with a guy who was convicted for 34 felonies.
The question lingering on my mind since this needless, appalling war began is whether INTERNATIONAL LAW really exist? If it does, how relevant is it? As a student of International Relations, l have read widely about IL. I have studied that International law maintains global order, peace, and justice. I know that IL provides a framework for interactions between states and other international actors. It is my understanding that lL governs a wide range of issues, from trade and finance to human rights and environmental protection. I have also been taught that lL is crucial in promoting cooperation, preventing conflicts and fostering a stable and equitable world. So what the heck is going on in Gazza and very recently in Iran? Has the international community failed? Is IL and IHL just a literature?
The Secretary General of Amnesty Inernational, Agnes Callamard is urging “both parties to comply with their obligations and ensure that civilians in both countries do not further pay the price of reckless military action”, but she fell shot of calling out Israel for starting the war in clear violation of both International Law and International Humantarian Law.
I am disappointed that the African Union is not speaking against Israel’s provocation. What is Ghana’s policy position on the killings in Iran which is orchestrated by monstrous Netanyahu and aided by reckless, irresponsible, mendaciuos and manupulative war mongering Donald Trump.
It is instructive to note however that Mr Trump’s MAGA base is reeling under pressure. They are split with leading MAGA voices speaking publicly against lsrael’s military attacks on lran and calling out Trump.
Steve Bannon is an influential voice from Trump’s “America First” coalition. He very recently urged caution about the U.S. military joining Israel in trying to destroy Iran’s nuclear program in the absence of a diplomatic deal. “We can’t do this again. We will tear the country apart. We can’t have another Iraq”, he said.
Turker Carlson, formally of Fox News is a longtime Trump ally and MAGA leader. He used to be a war hawk. He is now using his own media network to argue against U.S support for Israel. Turker has accused Trump of being “complicit” in Israel’s attack on Iran and warned that a “full-scale war” could end Trump’s presidency.
Marjorie Taylor Greene is a United States Represnsative. She is one of Trump’s most loyal and harcore supporters. She cautions Trump against entering another “Middle East war” saying “Americans are very sick and tired of that.” Greene warns that MAGA “is going to fracture” if Trump goes ahead to join lsrael.
Many MAGA grassroots activists are toally and completely against Netanyahu’s war.
My conlusion is this. Let Israel face their own music. Iran isn’t Gaza.They can successfully defend themselves. America must stay out of this mess if Trump is not willing to tell his evil friend Netanyahu to immediately cease the attacks.The international community must act and speak against Israel with one strong voice. Israel must be utterly condermned.
Netanyahu is being sought for by the International Criminal Court for war crimes and crimes against humanity. He is being tried in lsrael for corruption and bribery. Americans should not allow their money and resources to be used to support a war criminal. And the rest of the world should speak forcefully against him. Israel MUST DISCONTINUE the attacks now!
