GROUPTHINK MOSTLY PRODUCES POOR RESULTS

Musah Superior writes;

GROUPTHINK MOSTLY PRODUCES POOR RESULTS.

The problem with some segments of our society is GROUPTHINK. It is a sociological tendency in which members of a group will conform to majority opinion to gain acceptability, favour or for fear of abuse rather than stating their own opinions.

Groupthink makes us silly bandwangoners. A bandwagoner is a person who become supportive of something because majority of the people in the group or community support it even if it is troublesome or not right. The weak, powerless, needy, unprincipled, less principled and sychophants are the most affected by this ancient, undemocratic decision making.They are directly or indirectly bludgeoned into accepting or kowtowing to the phenomenon. This is problematic and leads to poor decision making and inept conclusions.

Why set aside your ideas and beliefs and put on a false front to consent to the majority view? Cowards and hypocrites do this. They are always willing to please others or accept what they do or say hook line and sinker not to incur the displeasure of the bigwigs and or the intolerant attention seeking bunch

Submitting your idea or ideas will profoundly enhance the korero in the build up to the big intervening idea.

You should never be afraid to be called names because you are a periodic and efficient contributor in an ongoing debate or discussion to solve a problem. Societies or institutions that are sustainably stronger, unflagging and steadfast encourage people to interogate issues, ask questions and contribute their proposals/suggestions to addressing topical issues.

So my dear NPP member, don’t assume that your idea or ideas will not make sense. Do not feel intimidated in any environment to air your opinion about how we can fix our party. Make that contribution as cogently as you can. May be your idea will be one of the most innoviative ones.

As we rebuild and restructure our Party with the Election Review Committee fact finding mission in progress, it is important we continue our public discussions and principally conduct the post elections analysis in manner devoid of antagonism but be constructively critical of the issues or fallouts and the personnel.

Be strong, be undismayed and be optimistic! The NPP will be back!

Let’s win together in 2028.
