The Overlord of Dagbon Kingdom Ndan Yaa Naa Abubakari II has donated a parcel of land to CAMFED-GHANA.
The land located in Yendi will be use to construct CAMFED offices to enhance the implementation of its activities to promote the welfare of the girl-child.
Speaking on behalf of the Dagbon Overlord, the Chief of Bini, Ahmed Ayuba Ziblim said the gesture was to support the good works of CAMFED-GHANA in the area.
Bini Naa said this during a community durbar at Yendi, organised by CAMFED-GHANA.
The durber was to engage community members to enlighten them on its new strategic plans.
The Yaa Naa in the speech expressed his profound gratitude to CAMFED-GHANA for its interventions especially targeting girls and young women.
He therefore appealed to parents, and community members to embrace the organisation’s new strategic plans towards girl-child education and economic empowerment.
Mr George Yaw Adorshie, Head of Communication and Strategic Partnership, CAMFED-GHANA said the new strategic plans would improve upon girls’ access to education to reduce poverty especially in rural areas.
Miss Seiya Adams, District Operations Officer at Yendi for CAMFED-GHANA said so far, 1,132 girls benefited from the organisation’s initiatives in the Yendi Municipality.
